Collins Communications commenced in advertising in 1983. Our advertising and marketing including promotions and special events was directed at export marketing especially in FMCG to Australia, USA and very recently Hong Kong. We were the first New Zealand ad agency to have an affiliate in Singapore. We pioneered sponsorship of special events in overseas locations. As an example we sponsored the Melbourne International Arts Festival for the benefit of our clients Swanndri and The Milford Track. We also sponsored the Yukon Quest for our possum client.
We now have a relationship with the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong's major daily for our clients export support in the region, including Southern China. We understand this is a New Zealand first.
Our marketing clients have included, magazines, a housing company, shoe retailer, meat processor, cheese manufacturer and farming componentry.
Zilling, named to appeal to our overseas clients, as we say New zilland!!, has proved a highly memorable name. A great name for quality marketing and easy to pronounce in any language, in fact the Asians pronounce it the best of any.

Zilling Ice Cream
In 2002 we created and launched Zilling Ice Cream in conjunction with one of our clients. This made immediate inroads to the premium brand market segment. Ranging started in the major banner groups in the North Island before expanding south. It maintained a high level of profitability in a very competitive market. Zilling Ice Cream is available for sale with the closing of the manufacturer. This includes marketing strategy, packaging designs and pots, as our company concentrates and focuses on web site development and marketing for new and current clients.
